Nasolabial Folds
As we get older, we may notice areas of our face that we are not quite so happy with. Creases can appear around the mouth where previously the skin was smooth and can be more noticeable than others our age, particularly when genetics and lifestyle factors such as smoking come into play. Even a wide smile can mean that these lines appear more rapidly. Whilst lines and wrinkles are all a natural part of the ageing process, that doesn’t mean that we have to accept them. These dermal fillers offer a solution that can also help to smooth out the wrinkles and return a lifted, hydrated and rejuvenated look to the skin.
Products Used
Juvederm Volift – This creates an ultra-smooth gel for a natural appearance with minimal swelling and bruising, therefore it is best used for smoothing nasolabial folds and facial contours.
FAQ
How do dermal fillers work?
Hyaluronic Acid is the substance naturally present in our cells that keeps our skin smooth, supple and hydrated. As we age, its levels in the skin decrease and we lose moisture, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal filler injections help restore this hyaluronic acid and replace volume to the skin, effectively lifting it to reducing the wrinkles.
What are the side effects?
Slight bruising and swelling are common side-effects. When dermal filler injections are performed correctly by an experienced medical practitioner they are regarded as a very safe aesthetic procedure, bad reactions to Hyaluronic Acid are exceptionally rare.
How Long do dermal fillers last?
At The Hamble Clinic we only use non-permanent fillers. Dermal fillers can last from 6 – 18 months depending on the filler used and area placed. Over time and with repeated treatment the effects can last longer.
Are dermal fillers painful?
The treatment can be uncomfortable, and that is why we use an anaesthetic cream and cold packs to numb the area before injection. Juvederm Ultra already contains a local anaesthetic and this makes the procedure very comfortable.
