Natural-looking lip enhancement
At The Hamble Clinic in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire we offer natural looking lip fillers. The aim is to enhance your lips in a way that complements your face and respects your natural proportions.
You may want fuller lips, a more defined outline or to restore hydration and volume that has reduced over time. Perhaps one side of your lips looks different from the other, or you would like a little more definition around your Cupid’s bow. Lip enhancement starts with understanding what you would like to change.
Stuart Yeates, Founder and Clinical Director at The Hamble Clinic has years of experience administering lip injections. He takes a personalised approach, treating all his patients individually and offering natural looking results.
Stuart uses hyaluronic acid dermal fillers manufactured by Teoxane. These premium injectable gels can add volume and improve definition. The product, amount and placement are chosen around your specific needs.
Treatment may focus on the lip border, the shape of the upper lip or the balance between your upper and lower lips. For some people, a subtle adjustment is enough. Others may benefit from building volume gradually over more than one appointment.
Stuart is an independent nurse prescriber with over 20 years of clinical experience. He carries out your consultation and treatment personally. You can discuss your preferences openly, including any worries you may have about looking overfilled.
Your free consultation gives you time to explore the options, understand the risks and decide whether treatment feels right for you.

Your lip filler consultation and treatment
Your consultation starts with a conversation about your lips and the result you have in mind. Stuart will assess their shape, movement and proportions alongside your other facial features.
You don’t need to decide between 0.5ml and 1ml before your appointment. The appropriate amount depends on your starting point, existing filler and treatment goals. Stuart will explain his recommendation and the full cost before you make a decision.
If you proceed, he will explain how the treatment will be administered and place the filler in the appropriate areas to achieve the results that you would like. You will notice an immediate change, but there will be some swelling, which means this is not the fully settled result.
Aftercare is also part of your treatment. Stuart will explain what to expect, when to review your lips and how to contact the clinic if you have concerns. The Hamble Clinic is Save Face registered and we take patient safety very seriously.
Our Aylesbury clinic welcomes patients from across Buckinghamshire, including Stoke Mandeville, Weston Turville, Aston Clinton and Wendover. We also welcome enquiries from nearby Berkhamsted.
One appointment may be enough for your initial treatment. A staged approach may be recommended if you would like to build volume gradually. Any further treatment should be considered once your lips have settled and Stuart has assessed the result.
The time needed depends on the areas being treated and your individual plan. Stuart will confirm how long to allow for your appointment, including assessment, preparation and aftercare advice.
Swelling, bruising and tenderness can occur after dermal fillers. These usually settle gradually, but recovery varies between people and treatment areas. If you have an important event coming up it’s best to plan your filler appointment a minimum of 2 weeks before the event.
Lip fillers are temporary. How long the result lasts depends on the product, amount used and your individual response. Stuart will explain the expected duration for your treatment. Further filler is recommended following assessment, rather than simply because a set period has passed.
Risks include swelling, bruising and tenderness. Stuart will explain all the risks of lip injections before you give consent.
Follow the personalised instructions Stuart provides. Avoid pressing or massaging your lips unless advised. He will explain when to resume exercise and apply lipstick or other lip products.
Frequently asked questions
Will my lip fillers look natural?
Stuart’s aim is to enhance your lips while keeping them in proportion with your face. Natural-looking results depend on the amount of filler used and where it is placed. You can discuss how subtle you would like the change to be. A gradual approach may be recommended.
Do I need 0.5ml or 1ml of lip filler?
There is no single amount that suits everyone. For some people, 0.5ml may be appropriate for a small adjustment. Others may need a different amount or treatment over several appointments. Neither 0.5ml nor 1ml guarantees a particular look. Stuart will assess your lips and explain what is suitable for you.
Can lip fillers improve symmetry?
Filler may help improve some differences in lip shape or volume. However, natural asymmetry is common, and perfect symmetry cannot be guaranteed. Stuart will assess your lips at rest and when moving to understand what is contributing to the uneven appearance.
Can you define my Cupid’s bow without making my lips much bigger?
In suitable cases, treatment can focus on definition rather than a noticeable increase in overall volume. The Cupid’s bow is the curved central part of your upper lip. Stuart will assess your existing shape and explain how much definition can realistically be achieved.
How much swelling should I expect after lip fillers?
Some swelling is expected and can make your lips look larger than the intended result. It may also be uneven at first. The amount varies between people and treatments.
How long do lip fillers take to settle?
Initial swelling often improves within a few days, but it may take around two weeks to assess the result more reliably. Some people take longer. Avoid judging the final shape immediately after treatment. Persistent lumps, tenderness or unevenness should be reviewed by Stuart.
Does lip filler hurt?
The lips are sensitive, so you may feel a little discomfort during treatment. Numbing cream will be offered before your treatment and lidocaine is in the filler product that will also help make the injections more comfortable.
How long do lip fillers last?
Results last for several months and may remain visible for a year or longer, depending on the product and your response. The visible effect can fade gradually rather than disappear at once. Stuart will assess any remaining filler before recommending further treatment.
Can I have lip fillers if I get cold sores?
Tell Stuart if you have a history of cold sores, as lip injections can trigger an outbreak. He will discuss whether any precautions are appropriate. Treatment should be postponed if you have an active cold sore or signs that one is developing.
What is the difference between lip filler and a lip flip?
Lip filler adds volume and can enhance shape or definition. A lip flip uses botulinum toxin to relax part of the muscle around the upper lip, allowing more of the lip to show in suitable cases. It does not add volume. You can read more about lip flips on our anti-wrinkle treatment page.
How much do lip fillers cost?
The cost depends on the product, amount recommended and your treatment plan. Stuart will confirm the full price during your free consultation. Visit our prices page for current fees, or contact the clinic if you would like to discuss your options.
